Deer & Hare Mystical Totems
A stunning piece of mixed media art on a wood slice. Handmade, one of a kind, straight from the artist.
This enchanting piece is a hand-burned and painted wood slice, brimming with forest magic. At its heart stands a majestic stag, its antlers crowned with an air of wisdom and strength. Gentle woodland companions—three delicate hares—gather around, as if listening to the whispers of the trees. Surrounding them are mystical symbols: a Celtic Spiral, Triquetra, Eternal Knot, all glowing softly against a dreamy, twilight sky. A true treasure of pyrography and artistry, this piece feels like a glimpse into the soul of the forest itself.
The Celtic Spiral is one of the oldest symbols in the world. In Celtic culture, it represents the cycle of life, continuous growth, and evolution. It often symbolizes the natural rhythm of birth, death, and rebirth. Spiritually, it can also represent a journey – the balance between inner growth and the outer world.
Triquetra, or the trinity knot, is a famous pagan symbol. Its three interwoven arcs represent various triads of life:
• Earth, sky, and water (elements of nature).
• Past, present, and future (time).
• Body, mind, and spirit (spiritual unity).
While it was later adopted by Christianity to symbolize the Holy Trinity, in pagan traditions, it can also represent the triple goddess: the maiden, the mother, and the crone.
The Eternal Knot is an interwoven pattern, with no beginning or end, symbolizes eternity and interconnectedness. The eternal knot often represents love and relationships. It illustrates the interconnectedness of life and death, humanity and nature, and the unity of all things.
Connection to Nature
These symbols all reflect a reverence for nature and an awareness of humanity's place within it. Their placement around the stag and hares in the artwork emphasizes the deep connection between human life and the natural world.
This piece tells a universal story, one that resonates with anyone who feels the call of the wild and seeks harmony within themselves and the world around them.
