Description
As the creator of this "Dream catcher", I approached it with a vision rooted in folk-ethnic fantasy, as with most of my works.
The process began with selecting a piece of wood, its natural grain becoming the first layer of texture for the artwork.
Using the pyrography tool, I burned the linework of the central image – the fairy and the small dragon – allowing the heat to etch the narrative directly into the wood.
This technique lends a sense of permanence and an almost primal connection to the material.
The application of acrylic colors followed, chosen to enhance the folk-inspired feeling and bring the elements to life.
The colors were chosen to evoke a sense of enchantment and otherworldliness, drawing from traditional color symbolism within various cultures.
The depiction of the fairy cradling the dragon was intentional, representing a theme of gentle power and the nurturing of magical potential often found in ancient tales and folklore.
The incorporation of feathers – in hues of blue and black – and beads adheres to the traditional structure of a dream catcher, believed to filter dreams and protect the sleeper.
